Watkins missed last weekend’s FA Cup triumph over Tottenham Hotspur having been forced off at half-time against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Centre-back Mings has been sidelined for the last three matches after hobbling out of our 1-1 draw against West Ham United in late January. But both have returned to training and are back in Unai Emery’s squad for the visit of the Tractor Boys. The duo are joined by new signing Axel Disasi, who was cup tied against Spurs last Sunday, but could make his debut this weekend. However, Villa remain without injured quintet Ezri Konsa, Pau Torres, Matty Cash, Amadou Onana and Ross Barkley. Manager Emery provided a fitness update at Friday afternoon’s pre-match media conference. “Still out for tomorrow are Cash, Pau, Konsa, Onana and Barkley,” said the Villa boss. “Those who have trained this morning with the group and are in the squad are Mings and Ollie Watkins.”

Aston Villa will host FC Barcelona in the UEFA Youth League round of 16. The Villa under-19s triumphed in their last 16 clash with Puskás Akadémia on Wednesday, winning 2-1 at the Pancho Aréna, Hungary, to book their place in the second knockout stage. And Josep Gombau’s Young Lions will now face Barça in a home tie in March, with the draw having taken place on Friday afternoon at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland. The fixture will be held on Tuesday, March 4, getting underway at 3pm GMT live on TNT Sports. Venue and ticketing details will be confirmed in due course.  All ties from the round of 16 onwards are single-legged affairs in an open, unseeded draw, with each club’s path the final also now determined.
