
Nottingham Forestâs Chris Wood finds something extra to beat Blackpool
It is easy to see why Nuno EspĂrito Santo does not like cup replays after his Nottingham Forest were pushed all the way for a place in the fourth round by League One Blackpool until Chris Woodâs 110th minute winner. It looked like a straightforward night by the beach for an hour but goals from Albie Morgan and substitute Kyle Joseph sent the match into extra time. Forest gave their ÂŁ11m summer signing Andrew Omobamidele a debut, four and a half months after joining the club, proving the worth of having a seventh-choice centreâback. It was a strong lineup put out by Nuno, who may not be keen on the concept of FA Cup replays but who knows the importance of rhythm for a team struggling in the Premier League, especially considering the fact they are facing a potential points deduction and need to maintain the momentum they have found under Steve Cooperâs successor.
