Details for Aston Villa Under-21s’ Vertu Trophy Round of 16 meeting with Bradford City have been confirmed. The Young Lions will host the League Two outfit at Villa Park on Tuesday, January 14, with action to get underway from 7.30pm. Josep Gombau’s side secured their place in the competition’s last 16 for the first time in the club’s history, with a dramatic penalty-shoot-out victory over League One side Blackpool. The Villans triumphed 18-17 at Bloomfield Road after a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes – as the only ‘invited’ academy team to progress through the group stages – and will now be looking to book their place in the quarter-finals in the new year.   Full ticketing details will be confirmed in due course.
